MY UNFORTUNATE EXPERIENCE WITH MAMA IYABO; I CRIED.

Mama Iyabo was the izoko(leaf rice) seller at the centre of physical science complex, in the prestigious University of Benin. I heard about her from the unending chitchat of my friends who ate at her stand regularly. I wasn't really a fan of izoko but after one wrap of it, o boy, I couldn't stop loving the taste. Eventually I became her favorite customer as she always reserved a seat for me and an additional kpomo to my daily usual.
A week to exams, everyone became acquainted with their books. I was too, but I never forgot my reserved seat at mama Iyabo's. So after reading for a while at the library extension one faithful afternoon, I decided to have lunch. I went happily to meet my reserved seat and additional kpomoAfter devouring my plate I wanted to pay and head back to the hostel to relax, I found out I had lost my wallet.
Expecting mama Iyabo to understand the situation, being her favorite customer, but I saw her in a different dimension.

My very own mama Iyabo poured hot stew on my new Fendi t-shirt and mouthwashed me in front of everyone present. I was far from being embarrassed, I needed the earth to open up and swallow me ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. Till this day, the sight of leaf rice still brings tears to my eyes!
